A Tag Routing Link is one link that sends people to different URLs based on
their tags, for example VIP members to an exclusive offer and everyone else to
the regular campaign page, and can tag each group separately. This article
explains how to create the link, set the routing condition, read the routing
data, and what editing the condition or deleting the link affects.
---

By the end of this article you'll be able to create a Tag Routing Link for a LINE message or Richmenu: members with the tags you choose land on an exclusive page, everyone else lands on a regular page, and each group is tagged separately.

## Before you start

* Available on all plans. **The Free plan allows up to 10 Tag Routing Links**; when you reach the limit you'll see **Reached Plan Quantity Limit**.
* You need **Tag Routing Link** permission. **View Only** lets you browse and see the data; to create, edit, move or delete links you need **Editable**, otherwise the buttons show **No Edit Permission**.
* The workspace must be connected to a **LINE Official Account**, and the tags you route on should already exist. See [Create and manage tags](https://docs.oakmega.com/en/guide/members/tag-management.md).

## Tag Routing Links at a glance

In the navigation bar, click **Link Tool** and choose **Tag Routing Link**.

The screenshot below shows the page. On the left are **All Tag Routing Links** and **Folder**. In the middle are the links in the current folder. Click a link, and **Link Information** on the right shows the link URL, the matched condition URL, the routing tag and the unmatched condition URL.

![The Tag Routing Link page: the Anniversary routing folder is selected on the left; the middle list has one link, Anniversary visit gift entry; Link Information on the right shows the https://urli.ai/split-tag/ link with copy and QR code buttons, the matched condition URL, the routing tag 週年慶來店者 (all tags required) and the unmatched condition URL](https://docs.oakmega.com/en/guide/marketing-tools/images/tag-routing-link-01-list.png)

When someone clicks the link, OakMega routes them by their tags:

| Who clicks | Goes to | Tags applied |
|---|---|---|
| **Matches** (has the **Limited Routing Tag**) | **Matched Condition URL** | **Click the link to apply a tag** + **Apply tag for matched condition** |
| **Doesn't match** | **Unmatched Condition URL** | **Click the link to apply a tag** + **Apply tag for unmatched condition** |

The **Multi-select Tag Rule** decides how several routing tags are combined: **All tags required** means a member needs every tag; **Any tag required** means one of them is enough.

## Create a Tag Routing Link

1. On the left, click the folder you want the link in, then click **Create** in the top-right. If all links are selected, you'll be asked to choose a folder first.
2. Under **Basic Settings**, enter a **Link Name** (up to 100 characters); this is the name shown in the list.
3. Under **Link Information**, the link code is generated for you. For a memorable URL, replace it with your own code (8–15 characters: Chinese, uppercase/lowercase English, numbers and the symbols - and \_).
4. If you like, choose tags under **Click the link to apply a tag** (up to 3); everyone who clicks gets them.
5. Under **Matched Condition URL**, enter the URL for members who match, then choose the **Limited Routing Tag** (up to 20): click a tag folder on the left, then check tags on the right. Choose the **Multi-select Tag Rule**, and if you like, **Apply tag for matched condition** (up to 3).
6. Under **Unmatched Condition URL**, enter the URL for everyone else, and if you like, **Apply tag for unmatched condition** (up to 3).
7. Under **Link Preview**, enter a **Link Title** (up to 50 characters) and **Link Description** (up to 500 characters), which people see when the link is shared. The **Link Preview Thumbnail** is optional (1200 x 630 px recommended).
8. Click **Save**. You'll see **Created successfully**.

The animation below clicks **Create** in the Anniversary routing folder, enters the link name "Anniversary visit gift entry" and the matched condition URL, picks the routing tag 週年慶來店者 from the 常客 folder (tag names are the demo workspace's own data), then enters the unmatched condition URL.

## Read link data

Click a link and switch to **Link Data** on the right:

* **Link Historical Data**: **Total Number of Clicks** and **Total Number of Users**, counting only clicks that were routed successfully.
* **Routing Data**: clicks and people for the matched and unmatched URLs separately. **Editing the routing condition restarts this count.**
* **Link Interval Data**: choose the past 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or a custom date range to see charts of click data, region, system and browser.

To take the data with you, click "⋯" and choose **Download Link Data** (up to 10,000 records).

## Edit, move and delete

* **Edit**: click **Edit** on the right. Changing the routing condition warns **Updating conditions will reset routing data for all URLs**; other data isn't affected. A changed URL takes about 24 hours to take effect, and messages you've already sent and QR codes you've printed will lead to the new URL. Changes to the link preview don't take effect immediately either.
* **Move**: click "⋯" at the top of the right panel and choose **Move**.
* **Delete**: click "⋯" at the top of the right panel and choose **Delete**. The confirmation says **All content will be deleted.**; click **Delete**. The link stops working, including links you've already sent.

The animation below clicks Anniversary visit gift entry, clicks "⋯" at the top of the right panel, chooses **Delete** and confirms; the link disappears from the list.

Folders work as elsewhere: click the **+** next to Folder to create one, and hover over a folder and use "⋯" to rename or delete it. **Deleting a folder also deletes the links in it, and they stop working.**

## How it works

* **Why route by tag?** When you send one message to all your friends, a single link can show different content to different people, such as member prices for members and a sign-up page for everyone else, without splitting it into several messages.
* **Only successful routes are counted.** The clicks and people in the data are those who clicked and reached a target URL.
* **A link code can't be reused.** Codes are unique across all workspaces, and a deleted link's code can't be used again.

## FAQ

### Reached Plan Quantity Limit

The Free plan allows up to 10 Tag Routing Links. Delete links you no longer need, or upgrade your plan.

### The routing data suddenly dropped to zero

Editing the routing condition (URLs, routing tags or the multi-select rule) restarts the routing data; total clicks and users aren't affected.

### The tag picker says the folder has no tags

The tag folder you clicked is empty. Pick another tag folder, or type the tag name in the search box at the top.
